What does ‘play’ mean to you?

Charity comic producer Do You Want to Kiss it Better? is putting together a new collection of work called Play to raise money for War Child Canada, and are looking for previously unpublished narrative art, sequential or otherwise, which expresses play in its many dynamic forms.

Many people, especially adults, don’t get the chance to play. In a world where we’re all growing up fast little time is left for our imaginations to run wild. How did you play as a child? What does play mean to you now? Can you even remember or is your life still one big game of make-believe?

This project is a tribute to play; what it means to you and what you would like it to mean to others.

This is a family-friendly comic, so while your work can be traditional strip art or abstract, with words or without words, the only stipulation is that it’s suitable for a child’s eyes. Submissions can be up to five pages long. One full-size page is 7” x 10.5” (178mm x 267mm). Please send all submissions as 300dpi Tiff format files. The comic will most likely be printed in black and white to save on costs.

This opportunity is unpaid, and all profit from the sale of the comic will be going to War Child Canada. To find out more about the work they do to help children affected by war all over the world visit their website.

And to learn more about Do You Want to Kiss it Better? and our first comic, Green, check out our blog at www.dywtkib.blogspot.com.

If you’re interested in being involved or want more information email us at: doyouwanttokissitbetter@gmail.com.

Thank you for reading!
